Scientifically, this test is known as the Power Head Test Article (PHTA) and the first hardware test for the development of semi-cryo engines.
PHTA is a significant precursor test done to validate the integrated performance of some of the engine’s critical subsystems, such as the gas generator, turbo pumps, pre-burner and control components. The test involves performing a hot-firing for an extremely brief duration of not more than 4.5 seconds.

SEBI's total income rises 48%

Capital markets regulator SEBI's total income rose 48% year-on-year to ₹2,075 crore in 2023-24, driven by increased earnings from fees and subscriptions.   Of the total income, the regulator earned a fee income of ₹1,851.5 crore, which was way higher than ₹1,213.22 crore garnered in the preceding financial year, according to Sebi's annual statement of accounts 2023-24 made public on Tuesday (March 4, 2025).

Indian Railways has prepared a detailed project report (DPR) for laying a railway line from Kokrajhar in Assam to Gelephu in Bhutan. A spokesperson for the North East Frontier Railway (NFR) recently informed the media about the details.
The proposed 69.04 km railway line will connect Kokrajhar station in Assam to Gelephu in Bhutan, at a cost of Rs 3,500 crore, the spokesperson said. The survey for this railway line has already been completed. Now the DPR has to be approved. A total of six new stations will be built in this project - Balajan, Garubhasa, Runikhata, Shantipur, Dadgiri Gelephu. This railway line will strengthen India-Bhutan relations.

Changed regulations for passport application

The Centre has brought new rules into effect from Friday regarding passport applications. According to the amended Passport Rules, 1980, from now on, those born after October 1, 2023, to apply for a passport, they will have to submit only a certificate issued by the Registrar of Births and Deaths, Municipal Corporation or any other authority as proof of date of birth.
Those born before October 1, 2023 can submit other documents as proof of birth. Accordingly, TCs issued by schools, certificates issued by boards regarding matriculation and tenet, PAN number issued by the IT department, copy of service record given to government employees, pension order of retired government employees, driving license, election photo identity card, policy bonds issued by LIC and other public companies can be submitted as birth certificates.

AP budget with Rs. 3.22 lakh crore.

The coalition government in Andhra Pradesh has presented a full budget for the first time. The budget for the financial year 2025-26 was presented in the Legislative Assembly by Minister Payyavula Keshav. The budget was brought before the House with an estimated expenditure of Rs. 3 lakh 22 thousand crores.

Of this, Rs. 48 thousand crores have been allocated for agriculture. Revenue expenditure is estimated at Rs. 2,51,162 crores, capital expenditure is estimated at Rs. 40,635 crores, revenue deficit is estimated at Rs. 33,185 crores, and fiscal deficit is estimated at Rs. 79,926 crores.
